Oil well

      In order to extract oil and natural gas, in the process of oil and gas exploration and development, all wells drilled to obtain oil and gas from the ground are collectively referred to as oil wells.
For a wellbore that has been drilled, there is drilling fluid and mud cake to protect the wellbore wall, and the well at this time is called an open hole.
Casing is put into the open hole, and then the annular space between the casing and the well wall is sealed with cement slurry. After the oil and gas water layer is sealed off, an oil well that can be exploited for oil and gas is formed. In order to achieve different exploration purposes and meet the needs of oil and gas field development, different types of wells are found in different parts of the oil and gas fields. There are several types:
Exploration well: A well drilled in order to find out the underground structure and oil and gas content in the geological structure that has been proved to be promising by geophysical exploration, and is called an exploration well. Data wells: Wells drilled to obtain the data required for the preparation of oilfield development plans are called data wells. Such wells require full or partial cores.

Water injection well: A well used to inject water into the oil layer to maintain the pressure of the oil layer is called a water injection well.
Observation well: In the process of oilfield development, wells specially used to observe the underground dynamics of the oilfield are called observation wells. For example, observe the pressure of various oil layers, the change law of water cut, and the law of single-layer water flooding. Observation wells generally do not undertake production tasks.
Inspection well: In the process of oil field development, the well drilled to check the development effect of oil layer is called inspection well.
Adjustment well: In order to recover the loss of reserves in dead oil areas, improve the effect of water injection development in fault-shielded areas, and adjust the development effect of areas with serious plane contradictions, the wells drilled are called adjustment wells. Adjustment wells are used to expand the oil sweeping area, increase the oil recovery rate and improve the development effect.
